In the past, students and adults alike could do things that easily could be laughed at and forgotten. Today, with ubiquitous posting of information, photos and video, everything is recorded as a 'digital footprint': Ill-advised photos and online chatter are coming back to haunt people months or years after the fact, and many students do not realize that this information will follow them.

FYI: 80% of business and college recruiters do online research about candidates, and they often reject candidates based on what they find online. (Huffington Post, 2011)
